UK Government 2022 Budget — Share Plan Review

UK Discretionary Share Plans:

Following the announcement of the 2022 budget, it has been confirmed that the 2020 review of the Enterprise Management Incentive (EMI) scheme is to continue with its current operation and remains ’effective and appropriately targeted’. There has also been a further announcement that the review will now include the Company Share Option Plan (CSOP). This review is to ensure that companies have an effective Share Plan to offer as they continue growing and are no longer able to offer EMI grants. The industry is of course hoping that this could lead to the long overdue increase to the £30,000 limit.
